Today I’m talking about TOPS!
This Mac and Cheese top got a great response so I thought I’d explain a little bit about it. I refashioned it from an adult tee from Sandbox Threads. Not only is this a ridiculously cool tee shirt shop but the owner lives 5 houses down from me! Pretty cool huh?
I used the Little Zippy pattern from See Kate Sew, but since it’s a knit shirt I cut it one size smaller than I normally would. I omitted the facings and zipper and finished the neckline and the arm holes by turning them under 1/2″ and stitched with a double needle.
This polkadot top is also a Little Zippy. I decided a bow would be pretty on it so I hand stitched it on. I used a yellow zipper to give it a little pop!
I am probably going to make a Zippy Top out of the orange tiger fabric for myself. Is that weird?
And this beauty is the Flashback Skinny Tee. It’s amazing what sweater fabric does to this pattern! I omitted the sleeve cuffs to keep it looking sleek. It’s such a fun little sweater, but the fabric was a PAIN IN THE ASS to sew. It’s really thin and stretchy. And I bought a ton of it. WOMP WOMP. I cannot wait to buy some thicker, more substantial sweater fabric and use this pattern again! It’s such a quick sew. I think it took me about an hour and that’s counting the time I used putting water soluble interfacing on every single seam so it didn’t stretch out!
