Scandinavian Style

Hey y’all! Today I’m part of the Scandinavian Style Series over at Boy, Oh Boy, Oh Boy!  When Stacey asked me to participate I jumped at the chance because I just adore Scandi style and my designs tend to lean that way anyway.
To me Scandinavian fashion is all about effortless cool.  I see a lot of neutral colors and black mixed with high contrast pieces with a pop of color.  I used the zebra waffle knit fabric to make a thermal underwear type shirt (you know, to keep her warm in the sub-zero temperatures in our pretend home in Sweden.)  Did you know I’m Swedish on my dad’s side?  That is where the name Alida came from!  That’s your fun fact for the day.
The dolman sleeve top is the pinnacle of laid-back cool so I knew I needed to make one.  Both of the shirts are self-drafted, but you can find a good pajama top pattern HERE and a dolman pattern HERE.  The zebra and the crazy chevron fabrics are from Girl Charlee.  I used a pattern for the pants, they are the Holly Trousers from Pattern Anthology’s Winter line, which will only be available until the 18th. (After that you can buy all patterns individually, but seriously the bundle is such a good deal!)  I did drop the crotch 2 inches to give them a more relaxed look and feel.
Maybe they got a little too relaxed! What a ham this kid is!  Oh, and the crown is just a cereal box crown, I have a tutorial for that HERE.
Make sure you go check out all the other bloggers on the tour!  I especially love this one from Sewing Like Mad.
